A Magical, Spooktacular Success! Recapping Our Witches Way Woodland Fun Day
Wow! What a day!
We are absolutely buzzing after our Witches Way Woodland Fun Day on Saturday, 25th October. From 12 pm to 4 pm, the woodlands were filled with the sound of laughter, spooky excitement, and families having a fantastic time. To everyone who came out and made it so special, thank you!
If you missed it, or just want to relive the magic, here’s a look at all the ghoulishly good fun we had.
The Witches Way Trail
The main event was our enchanted Witches Way themed walk, and it was a massive hit! Hundreds of brave little explorers (and their grown-ups!) ventured into the woods on a special quest: to find the 9 legendary Islandmagee Witches hidden along the trail.
It was wonderful to see so many families working together, map in hand, searching for the witches. Every child who completed the quest was rewarded with a well-deserved bag of sweet treats at the end!
Action, Crafts, and Cackles Galore!
But the magic didn’t stop at the trail. The entire area was packed with activities for every age and interest:
- Zombie Laser Tag: The 30-minute sessions of heart-pounding zombie laser tag were a huge hit, with kids and adults running, dodging, and screaming with delight.
- Child-Friendly Axe Throwing: We saw some impressive new skills at the axe-throwing booth, giving our adventurous guests a chance to try something new and exciting.
- Storytime with Luan Ingram: We were so honored to have author Luan Ingram join us. She captivated the children with a special reading of her wonderful book, ‘The Last Witches of Islandmagee’.
- Put Your Parents in the Pillory: One of the day’s biggest photo-ops! Kids had a blast locking their parents in the stocks for a few minutes of harmless fun.
- Creative Fun: The soft play bus was packed with happy children, while our arts & crafts tent was a hub of creativity. We also saw some hilarious attempts at ‘Pin the Nose on the Witch’!
- Transformations: A huge shout-out to our talented face painters, who transformed countless smiling faces into witches, monsters, and pumpkins.
The Perfect Spooky Spirit
We were blown away by the incredible costumes on display. The effort everyone put in was amazing, and it made the atmosphere truly magical. We awarded a trophy for the best fancy dress, and it was almost impossible to choose just one winner!
To help everyone get into character, we gave away free witches’ hats, broomsticks, and devil’s pitchforks, which were spotted all over the woodland. And for those looking for a unique souvenir, our fantastic craft stalls were filled with amazing handmade goods.
A massive thank you to all our volunteers, vendors, and every single family who attended and brought such wonderful energy. The Witches Way Woodland Fun Day was a ‘super successful’ event because of you!
